WHY..? When you ask
yourself why all the politicians in America are rushing toward a war
with Iraq when there is no rational,
defensible reason for that attacking country — look at the list that
runs alongside these words. (Any
sane person is going to have trouble with this. It clearly contradicts
everything American democracy purports to stand for.
It’s like a cynic’s wet dream…but it’s for real.) The list that
runs alongside this column is the “donation[?]” (in Detroit we call
a bribe a "bribe") that the Israeli lobby makes to American politicians === Like most Americans, enormous sums of money mean very little to me without some kind of context to measure them against. If you're a sports fane, you may know that Minnesota Timberwolves' basketball star Kevin Garnett, is "credited" with starting the bidding war between owners that makes players so ridiculously overpaid that it may eventually kill the sport. Kevin Garnett is paid $126 million a year. If you include the tax breaks our government gives to "Supporters of Israel," Israel is paid a "salary" of about $10 BILLION a year. That's eighty times what Kevin Garnett is paid. === When is the last time you were asked if the American Government should spend three times more on each Israeli citizen than it does on each American citizen? === If it is true, and I believe that it is, that the September 11 attacks would not have occurred if it weren't for Israel, we essentially paid for a terrorist attack on our own country! === When is the last time you were asked if you wanted to give $10 billion a year to Israel? === The source for the list of "contributions" to Congress people is a matter of public record. You can confirm this list and get a great deal of valuable information on the subject at the web site of the "Washington Report on Middle East Affairs" -- www.wrmea.com/ ===

PS: There is great deal more to come on this web page. It's already written but I'm new at this. It takes me a fair amount of time to format my writing for this web site. I don't have a clue about how to build web sites, but I'm doing it just the same. Ron D
